2009 January Newsletter - Nolan Ryan's at State FairWe might not have been quite as visible as the traditional corn dog, but Nolan Ryan’s All-Natural Beef came in a close second throughout this year’s State Fair of Texas in Dallas.  Whether you were on the midway, visiting the livestock barns, or going to a football game, you were close to a program featuring Nolan Ryan’s All-Natural Beef. Some of the activities were made possible by the Texas Beef Council. Our signature event was the Oct. 15 Fireman’s Challenge where four Dallas firehouse teams cooked Nolan Ryan steaks using their own unique touches that were judged by fairgoers. We salute all the teams that competed and are proud to recognize the Fire Station No. 28 team consisting of Lenny Longoria, Mike Gibbs and John Doiig as overall winners. The champions also were able to name a charity of their choice to receive the award of a Hasty Bake Grill and $250 worth of Nolan Ryan’s Beef. The winning team selected Box 4, which is a volunteer-run group that provides on-site refreshments to firefighters battling intense fires of 2–alarms or higher. Box 4 also supports urban search and rescue teams. Congratulations to Fire Station No. 28.
