Note about rubsRubs are a blend of herbs, peppers, spices or seasonings that add flavor to steaks or roasts by coating the surface of the beef. Rubs can consist of all dry ingredients or be combined with oil, crushed garlic or other liquids to take the form of a paste. For convenience, rubs can be applied just before grilling or roasting or several hours in advance. Flavors become more pronounced the longer the rub in on the beef.
